Book review

The curious incident of the  dog in the night time. A novel by Mark Haddon was a intresting book and a fun one to read. I liked the book because of the main character christopher he went on very intresting quest throughout the book and we learned alot about him and his family while completing these quests.
I like how this book was written,Christopher liked to talk about very irlevant topics while narrating.Which made the book funny and diddnt know what he was going to say next! i thought only some parts where hard to follow along with at times becausse of all the jumping around with topics that  christopher does. An example of when he was at the police station for hitting a policeman the night wellington a neighbors dog was found dead by christopher.this chapter was a little confusing because christopher was narrating the story and also telling us all his thoughts and why he was thinking this.
I would suggest the book to others and other english classes it really helped me under stand what a quest and bildungsroman are. They were many ways to intreput the book which makes it fun to discusss in class.

Material Goods

Henry David Thoreau believed that in order to live well, "we must reduce the number of material goods we have. Otherwise, these things begin to dominate us."

I disagree with this statement I think that you can be happy with material goods and not become dominated by them.Material items are things that make a person live more comfotably and happier. Not all people become over welmed by this. When items begin to dominate us we try to live through them and make the goods mask our problems that are happening in our lives. These goods beign to be our life becasue it is easier than facing our problems.
This is not an everyday apprenance that these goods make on our lives and this makes me disagree with
Henrys statement becasue we can be happy with material items.

Prime numbers&life

"Prime numbers are what is left when you have taken all of the patterns away.I think prime numbers are like life. They are very logical. But you could never work out the rules even if you spent all your time thinking about them." -Haddon 12

Life is all about working with the obstecles thrown at you and finding the meaning to them. What they will teach you.Mark Haddons quote is an example of life.Prime numbers are our obstecles to find the meaning or lesson it taught you.Thats what happens when you take away the patterns of prime numbers you take away the challenge and are left with the lesson taught to you.
Prime numbers are very logical says Haddon. To me numbers are logical but life is not.Everything happens out of order and not on time,to find the patterns you dont need logic or order to find the patterns.Even though you dont complete the task in the way asked you still have complted it and succeded, like finding patterns.
